I found these vintage glass bottles and immediately
knew I wanted to add to them. I used two types of ribbon and charms for mine, but you can use one type of ribbon and no charms if you would like. Here is what I did to make turn the plain glass bottles into beautiful centerpieces.
Supplies you will need:
- Vintage glass bottles
- Ribbon of your choice
- Mod podge mixture (1/2 Elmers glue and 1/2 water)
- Bowl for mod podge
- Scissors
- Charms are optional
The steps to take:
- Cut the pieces of ribbon long enough to overlap a little when it is wrapped around the bottle.
- Run the ribbon through the mod podge mixture.
- Lay one end of the ribbon on the bottle while holding the bottle in the horizontal position. Next rotate the bottle away from you.
- Once the whole ribbon is stuck to the bottle, set the bottle down in the vertical position and make sure your ribbon is straight. If any excess mod podge is running down the glass you can gently wipe it off with a paper towel.
- If using two types of ribbons repeat steps one through four for your secondary ribbon.
I slightly overlapped the coral ribbon onto the mint ribbon
- Let the glue dry for several hours
- After the ribbon has set you can add charms with a little bit of super glue.
Now go make your own version of this beautiful centerpiece!
